The Architect’s Guild – Model

Description

  • Second Year Project

In this project, we were required to design an institution for the Architects' Guild, in hole Shiber in Jerusalem.

I chose to design the institution in the form of two structures which grow out of the pit and separated by space. The whole project was designed on a negative grid, the grid itself characterizes the refraction in the structure and the location of the light input into it.

The concept that guided me was my will to create an accessible structure to the entire public, so that anyone who passes by the guild gets a glimpse into the world of architects and architecture, as a result the only possibility to go down into the depths of the pit is through the public areas of the Guild.
